#Occupy absence is a performative intervention that took place in January 2012 at the Academy of fine arts Vienna during the Rundang. The project developed under the form of a protest manifesto collage when one of our Tunisian colleagues from the AHL ALKAHF أهل الكهف collective received the visa refusal to come to Vienna. Two people from the group were initially invited for a talk and an open discussion on the repercussion of the Tunisian revolts in the actual political state of the country (after one year from our first meeting and the realization of the project Transmission) and on the ways art can be use as a tool of social change and political critical thinking. The plan was also to create a common artistic project in the form of street art, which resulted in the realisation of a poster, hanged in different public spaces in Vienna, as a reaction to the upcoming WKR-ball 2012.

The project is a collaboration between Annalisa Cannito, Miltiadis Gerothanasis, Nadia Zguem, Iris Borovcnik, Chui Yong Jian, Elyes Mejri, Zied Hadri.
